$39 That Will Haunt Me Forever

Today I was a good financially responsible adult and downloaded my credit report. I forgot that I'd done it in March, too, so I'm actually doing pretty well on that "you're supposed to spread your three free reports throughout the year, so do it every four months" thing.

All of the accounts make sense, which is good identity theft-wise. But it shows all the individual student loans that I consolidated when I graduated, about seven of them.

Including the one $39 I was given my junior year. Why $39, I don't know. That's not even a textbook.

And it's going to show on my credit report until 2017.

$39 that won't die.
